Cardiff’s Half-Term Fun: Free Family Events
This half-term, the Museum of Cardiff is the place to be! As part of the Welsh Museums Festival 2026, the museum is hosting a delightful array of free, family-friendly events from 24 October to 1 November. This year’s festival theme is all about celebrating Halloween sustainably, and the Museum of Cardiff has embraced this with open arms.
Visitors can grab a spooky “Halloween and Hwyl” activity booklet, which is brimming with puzzles and activities to keep the little ones entertained. The week is packed with exciting events, all free of charge, making it a perfect half-term outing for families.
On 26 October, enjoy a family screening of Disney/Pixar’s Wall-E, a charming animated adventure that will captivate both young and old. Then, on 28 October, let your children’s creativity shine at a drop-in craft session where they can make their own spooky decorations. The fun doesn’t stop there! On 29 October, join Flossy & Boo for a unique zine-making workshop using recycled materials – a fantastic way to learn about sustainability while having fun.
The half-term activities, combined with interactive exhibits that delve into Cardiff’s rich history, offer a wonderful opportunity to visit the Museum of Cardiff. All events are free, and most are available on a drop-in basis. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. So, why not make a day of it? Explore the museum, enjoy the activities, and create some wonderful family memories.
And if you find yourself enchanted by Cardiff and considering a move, remember that we at James Douglas are here to help you find your perfect home in this vibrant city!
